Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a background in the waste management or recycling industry. This role is responsible for managing all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Pay: $80,000 – $120,000+ per year (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy across billing, collections, payroll, and vendor payments
- Manage scale house accounting and software, including weight ticket reconciliation and invoicing
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for leadership
- Maintain general ledger, post journal entries, and reconcile bank accounts
- Handle AR and AP including invoicing, deposits, vendor payments, and collections
- Supervise payroll processing and ensure tax compliance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
- Collaborate closely with operations and customer service teams
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required or strongly preferred
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Industry experience in waste management or recycling preferred
- Proficient with QuickBooks, PC Scale, and Soft-Pak or similar software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
